Epoxy Glue For Plastic
- epoxy: a thermosetting resin; used chiefly in strong adhesives and coatings and laminates
- A two part glue that practically glues anything to anything, including metal to metal.
- Epoxy or polyepoxide is a thermosetting polymer formed from reaction of an epoxide “resin” with polyamine “hardener”. Epoxy has a wide range of applications, including fiber-reinforced plastic materials and general purpose adhesives.

Fillet-Filleting
Staying neat and even, I spread the thickned epoxy on heavy.
I then took a plastic spreader I had cutt a curve in and smoothed it smooth.
I’ve read that most 1st time builders are famous for putting too much epoxy on which makes for a heavier boat.
I also read a guide line saying to spread on enough to double the thickness of the plywood. Keeping in mind that some areas may need more, (bow stern & possibly joints that are almost flat).
I tried to remember all this while applying.
To Keep all this extra weight even side to side I also tryed to match how the opposite side came out.
To keep two stubburn areas tight I stuck a piece of scrap ply between the wires.
When it cures I will heat the wire with the tip of a wood burner & quickly yank them out.

The yellow putty is the Tamiya Epoxy Putty (A+B). the white is the Tamiya Standard Putty which comes in white color. The Epoxy will dry rock hard in 30 minutes but I usually wait for an about an hour. When sanded with water, it makes a really smooth and silky surface.
to save time, i try to apply the Epoxy putty in many areas as possible. This will reduce my "waiting" time and helps improve finishing the project
